Children's Privacy Policy
Written in plain language as required by COPPA. Governing law: State of Wisconsin, USA
For Parents and Guardians
This policy explains how we handle information about children under 13 on Bishop Family. We take this very seriously. If you have questions, email privacy@xops360.com.
Who This Policy Is For
This policy applies to children under 13 years old. It explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights parents have. This platform complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Children Cannot Create Their Own Accounts
Children under 13 cannot create their own accounts. A parent or guardian must create the account on the child's behalf and provide consent before the account becomes active.
What We Collect from Children
We collect only what is needed to provide the service:
- A display name (does not need to be a real name)
- Age group (we do not store exact date of birth)
- Activity logs (what pages visited, tasks completed, XP earned)
- Chat messages (if the parent has enabled chat — held for review)
- AI conversation transcripts (only if parent has enabled AI access)
We do not collect: real name, exact date of birth, phone number, address, photos of the child, or location data.
How We Use This Information
We use this information only to operate the child's account within the family archive. We do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose other than providing the service to your family.
Parental Consent
Before a child's account becomes active, we email the parent or guardian a consent link. The parent must click the link and confirm their consent. We keep a record of this consent.
What Parents Can Control
Parents control all settings for their child's account, including:
- Whether the child can chat with other members
- Whether the child can use AI avatar features
- How visible the child's profile is to other members
- Daily screen time limits
Parents receive a weekly activity digest by email.
Parental Rights
At any time, you can:
- Review your child's account information and activity
- Correct any inaccurate information
- Delete your child's account and all associated data
- Withdraw consent and deactivate the account
To exercise these rights, email privacy@xops360.com from the email address on the parent account. We will respond within 30 days.
Content Safety
All content and AI responses for children's accounts are filtered for age-appropriate language. Chat messages from children under 13 are reviewed before delivery. If we detect concerning content, we will notify you immediately.
Data Retention
We keep your child's data only as long as the account is active. When an account is deleted, all associated data is removed within 30 days, except for records we are legally required to keep (such as consent records).
